Follow-up From "Making Free Blogs and Websites" Seminar

Hi everyone,
Just in case you are visiting the blog today, I have added a follow-up to Bonjoni's question from the Guild of Oriental Dance Web/Blog seminar, about adding schedules and tables. The following technique is to avoid the space bar column formatting.

I was playing around with this and after adding the text content there's an "add image" icon up on the blog tool bar. So here is what I did:

First make the image file:
1. I created a small table on MS Word first.
2. Highlighted the table to copy it into a image software program.
3. I Pasted the table in paintbrush.*
4. Shored up the edges of the paintbrush lines.
5. and saved as a JPG file.

In the blog - add image file:
6. I then "added image", which will give size and location options.
7. Save/publish and view post.

I found the graphics went up at the tag line. So what I did was copy all the obvious computer lingo string and pasted just below this statement to demonstrate it can be moved during a re-edit.

SCHEDULE:

This does work nicer than spacing things into columns. So now when you double click on the graphics above, the table will enlarge for printing or copying.

Thanks for coming to the seminar. There was wonderful interaction and it was very exciting for me to see the enthusiasm around computer topics - it can be scary.

It is my passion to have dancers recognize they need to "brand" themselves and find reliable avenues to promote themselves respectfully.

Thanks again for coming.

Linda

Notes:
* All Windows operating computers has this software
in the accessories if you go through the start / program memu.

Crochet Zill Mufflers

You live in an apartment and need to be quiet but want to practice your zils? Or it's the middle of the night and your husband is sleeping and you want to practice your zills. Maybe your not confident with the zils and you don't want to hear the wrong mistakes.

Zill mufflers are a great idea. I found small crocheted doilies a little larger than my zills and added tiny elastic around the edge so I could slip the zill-socks or mufflers over the zill bell piece. You get the weight and bounce to practice without the sound. Fabric, fleece, lycra, and knitted fabrics would work too.

Here is another idea if you crochet. My friend Shira has crochet zill mufflers patterns at her website: http://www.shira.net/zillmufflers.htm

CLEAR CLOGS - what a fun find:
Look what I found: Clear clogs to showcase those fantastic socks either bought, hand knitted, or crocheted.

I ordered them on Sunday and got them on Wednesday. They were under $30 at http://www.knittersdreamstore.com
